Multimedia Project’ Prima Doll’ is all Set for its Anime’s Premiere in July

Prima Doll anime tells the story of mechanical dolls called automata, created as weapons for war but were later domesticated as the calamity ended.

To make a living, these automata doll themselves up in shiny kimonos and start working at a cafe called Kuronekotei in the imperial capital’s fifth district. Free of war and weapons, the automata begin to enjoy their ‘retirement’ by singing together like an idol group and more.

However, these days of happiness seem unreal, and it’s proven right when the consequences of war catch up to them.

The Prima Doll franchise has revealed a new promotional video for the upcoming anime slated to premiere on July 8. It also previews the anime’s opening theme song ‘Tin Toy Melody’ by Chat Noir, a group consisting of the five main voice actresses of the show.

The video introduces the pink-haired automata, Haizakura, as she goes about her day working in the cafe with her friends. It then shows us the other characters like the automata Karasuba, Gekka, Houkiboshi, and Retzel.

We’re shown various cute and funny glimpses of the automata girls working and trying to fit in a world without war. Kuronekotei seems like a place filled with warm and wholesome energy, and the video does justice to that description by showing the cafe’s cozy furniture, wooden work, and delicious food.

But do not be deceived by these kawaii looks, as the trailer begins to show the anime’s true nature. As the aftermath of the war catches up with the girls, we begin to witness some horrific scenes of destruction and terror.

Soon the automata are forced into the war again, and they’re willing to do anything to end this nightmare once and for all.

Watching a wholesome anime with a horrifying backstory is always heartbreaking and a thrilling experience.

While you don’t want their peaceful days to end, you also can’t help but wonder what lengths the characters will go to protect the things they care about.
