Summer Time Rendering GN 2 Reviews And Release Dates

When Ajiro Shinpei is killed the first time, he realizes that something dark and terrible is going on in his home Wakayama City on Hitogashima. His childhood friend Ushio is dead, but if he doesn't change the future, everyone on the island will be as well. He only has a few allies and less time to stop whatever is going on. In Volume 1, Shinpei learns about the suspicious circumstances surrounding Ushio's death. He then discovers that townspeople are being consumed and replaced by “shadows,” which appear to be connected to an island legend. While he can reset time by dying, he's losing a little more time with each loop. Now that he knows what the shadows are planning, it's more urgent than ever that he stop them. Enter Minakata Hizuru, another former resident who has returned to the island, although her agenda and her motivations are obscure.

The second volume of Summer Time Rendering is fantastic, and its 374 pages have enough twists to appeal to the most hard-core of suspense readers. It made me gasp out loud more than once! and kept me glued to the page right through the astonishing end of the volume. There is no doubt that I will be reading Volume 3, as I'm far too invested in what's happening to stop now. Volume 2 amps up both the violence and the fanservice from the first volume. As Shinpei becomes involved with new, if temporary, allies Hizuru and Nezu, they take aggressively violent action against the shadow copies of the people on the island, which leads to scenes of both body horror and psychological horror. The fanservice is still very prevalent; Hizuru is literally referred to as “big boobs” throughout the volume, when there are at least three other relevant nicknames that could have been chosen. Mio's underwear still plays a leading role, and Ushio's body will be naked for reasons. Despite the service treatment, the female characters are all as intriguing as the men, if less clothed. If you hope that the fanservice fades away as the story develops, you'll be disappointed. Nonetheless – and I say this as a manga fan of many decades who has heard this many times about other series – this manga is a really good, high-tension read. As we get to know the people involved and learn about their relationships, their deaths weigh more heavily on us, drawing us deeper into Shinpei's situation. We begin to care for their safety, or if they are even saveable at all. We gain new insights into the overall story as characters with complex personal histories are introduced into the narrative. This volume spends most of its pages developing these backstories and expanding on the setting introduced in Volume 1. The plot doesn't really progress so much as digress in this volume, as we learn the whos, the whats...but still not the whys of what is happening on Hitogashima. By the end of this volume I am no closer to understanding the mystery behind the shadows. But as the final pages land and shocking new mysteries are added to existing ones, I don't mind one bit. Summer Time Rendering by Yasuki Tanaka continues to be a rollicking good tale of paranormal suspense. Volume 2 will be released in English on July 25, 2022 by Udon Entertainment. A 25-episode anime directed by Ayumu Watanabe (Komi Can't Communicate, Space Brothers) will debut on April 14, streaming on Disney+. The completed manga is also available on Shueisha's MANGA Plus platform. Erica Friedman has done editing work on Rose of Versailles for Udon Entertainment. This review is based upon a review copy provided by Udon Entertainment. Erica has written about Yuri anime, manga and related media on her blog Okazu, since 2002.

Shingeki no Kyojin: The Dark Legacy Of The Yeager Family

If we want to blame one family for the destruction of over 80% of the world, then it has to be the Yeager family. In the world of Attack On Titan, it is not an exaggeration to say that The Eldian painted much of the history of the world with violence, blood, and war. Throughout all of that bloodbath and conquest, one family stood alone as the conquerors through the power of their Titans. They are the Fritz family, who later on change their name into the Reiss family. However, if one family was responsible for shaping the world as we know it today, another family is responsible for destroying over 80% of the world. They are the Yeager family. And if The Fritz needs a massive empire, the entire Titans, and generations of descendants in order to influence the history of the world, The Yeager only needs three men to burn it all to the ground. And this is the dark legacy of the Yeager family. Grisha was born and raised in Marley. And just like any other Eldian in Marley, he lives in the Internment Zone in Liberio and faces verbal and physical abuse on a daily basis. The first major event in his life is when his younger sister, Faye Yeager, is killed just because they went out of the zone to see an airship. This event awakened the rage and hatred in his heart towards the people of Marley. Young Grisha Yeager grew up to be a doctor. During this period in his life, there are two major events that change who he is as a person.

The first one is when he meets Dina Fritz, a girl with a royal bloodline who later on becomes his wife. The second one is his activity as an avid member of Eldian Restorationist, an extremist who not only wishes to restore the Eldians glory days, but also to exact revenge on the cruel Marleyan. Grisha and Dina has a son named Zeke Yeager. However, rather than giving their son the love and attention that he deserves, they shove their ideology on him and force him to join the Marleyan military and essentially become a spy for them. This proves to be a much too heavy burden for the 7-year-old Zeke, and he ends up reporting his parents' forbidden activities to the Marleyan military instead. Not long after that, Grisha and Dina are brought to the Paradis Island where Dina is turned into a Titan while Grisha inherit the power of the Attack Titan. Within the walls of the Paradis Island, Grisha married a woman named Carla and have another son named Eren. He keeps working as a doctor, but in secret, he tries to find the location of the Reiss family. When he finally found it, he massacred them, leaving only one man behind. Not only that, when the walls of the Paradis Island is breached, Grisha gives Eren the Titan serum and let Eren eat him, which effectively pass on the power of the Attack Titan to Eren. Zeke never felt the love that he needed from his parents. As a young boy, he was forced to do something that he hated for the sake of his parents' dream, and still his father would berate him to no end even though he always did his best for them. That is why Zeke didn't really feel bad when he reported his parents to the Marleyan. As a matter of fact, it was such a liberating moment for him. Nevertheless, Zeke still inherits his father's will to free the Eldian people from their suffering. However, he arrives at an entirely different solution. Rather than helping his people to rise above and defeat the Marley, he plans to make every subject of Ymir sterile through the power of the Founding Titan. This means every Eldian will lose their ability to reproduce and after around 100 years, there will be no Eldian left. To Zeke, having never been born is better than having to live in this everlasting hell. In order to execute his plan, he needs the power of the Founding Titan in Paradis Island. So he becomes the leader of the Warrior unit within the Marleyan army, and lead the invasion of the Paradis along with his fellow Titans. Zeke and his team, such as Reiner, Annie, and Bertholdt, would kill hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent people in Paradis island, and that is the price that he is willing to pay in order to achieve his goal. Now we come to the one and only Eren Yeager. Compared to his father and half-brother, Eren led a relatively normal childhood with his best friends Armin and Mikasa. But everything changed when the Colossal Titan attacked and destroyed the gate of the Wall Maria in the Shiganshina district. He's been fighting as the Attack Titan and part of the Survey corps ever since. There are two major events that slowly but surely push Eren into the edge of madness. The first one is the truth about the Titan and the outside world that he finds out from his father's journal. The second one is when he touches Historia's hand that allows him to unlock the memory of the previous Attack Titan, his father. The knowledge that he receives from both events planted a very sinister idea in his mind. In order to attain true freedom, both for him and the rest of the Eldian people, he needs to initiate the Rumbling. After becoming a terrorist, killing thousands of innocent people in Liberio, and betraying everybody that are close to him, he finally attains the full power of Ymir, and started the Rumbling. When he is finally stopped and killed, Eren has killed around 80% of the human population and erased the power of Titan from the Eldian people. Had Grisha given up on his extremist ideals and choose to live happily with his family. Had Zeke decided not to urge the warrior unit to infiltrate Paradis island. Had Eren decided to abandon his father's journal and be content with how they manage to push back the invaders, all of this bloodshed wouldn't have happened. And yet these three men chose to pursue their goal, and the inevitable global genocide finally happens. That is the dark legacy of the Yeager family.

Hunter x Hunter Manga Return With Biggest Update Yet

The series creator behind Hunter x Hunter, Yoshihiro Togashi, is hyping up the manga's more imminent return with the biggest status progress update yet! The creator recently took the world by storm when he suddenly created a Twitter account to announce that he was working on the manga's next major return to Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Fans had quickly flocked to this Twitter account hoping for more updates, and the creator has since quickly broken all kinds of notable social media records as fans anticipate each and every update for the next ten chapter release for the manga. It's been more than four long years since Hunter x Hunter last published a new chapter, so not only did the initial update grab fans by surprise, but each new update is only heating things up even more.

The latest update from Togashi's Twitter account shares a new look at the ninth completed chapter from the creator's latest batch and that means it's now one more crucial step forward to actually being complete and actually releasing in the pages of the magazine in the immediately near future. While these updates are notable, it also continues with Togashi's previously stated intent of coming back to Shonen Jump magazine with ten planned chapters in between each hiatus of the series. So while it's been so long since the last actual update, it is notable to see that the creator seems to be holding true to this plan anyway. At the same time, these are likely just the initial storyboard drafts for the ten chapters in question and there could be likely even more work needed to be done before the chapters actually release. With that being said, it's also the biggest progress update we have gotten for the series during this entire hiatus. Before coming to Twitter a couple of days ago, it seemed like this latest hiatus would be going on forever so at least now fans can rest easy knowing that there will be new material soon enough. Now it's just a matter of seeing whether or not fans will have the time to catch up with the Succession Contest arc before it resumes. 0comments What do you think? Are you excited to see Hunter x Hunter's manga making a comeback soon? What are you hoping to see from the next major update? Let us know all of your thoughts about it in the comments!

Nanika

Nanika is a mysterious Dark Continent creature who came to possess Alluka Zoldyck under unknown circumstances. The two currently coexist inside Alluka's body. Nanika's real appearance is unknown. When it manifests itself, it tinges Alluka's sclerae, irises, and mouth pitch black, also causing the latter to appear larger. Like Alluka, Nanika is very fond of Killua Zoldyck, whom it fondly calls by name. Nanika strives to earn people's praise and especially Killua's by granting wishes and usually asks him to pet it. When Killua orders it never to appear any longer, Nanika becomes hurt and cries. It later forgives Killua, after Killua promises to protect both Alluka and Nanika and to pet Nanika whenever it wished. Nanika also appears to be on good terms with Alluka, as the latter was very upset when she felt its misery. It is unknown when and how Nanika came to possess Alluka, but the two have shared the latter's body at least since Alluka was a young child.

The Zoldyck Family is in the dark about Nanika's nature. Killua once saw Alluka turn into Nanika, and learned about the general nature of its abilities by asking it how to revert the transformation. As a toddler, Alluka once asked Mitsuba, an attendant of the Zoldyck Family, to do three simple things: carrying her, going up a staircase, and raising Alluka up in the air. After Mitsuba did what she was told, Alluka's eyes and mouth suddenly turned pitch-black. Freaked out by this, Mitsuba called for help. Killua came and changed Alluka back to normal by asking Alluka to make himself go "high-high", which Alluka did. After the accident, Killua had to tell his parents about Alluka's secret because Mitsuba had already reported it to them. It turned out that when Alluka had three requests fulfilled, her eyes and mouth would turn pitch-black, and they would change back to normal only when she heard and granted a wish. Alluka in wish granting mode as a toddler To test the ability, her mother Kikyo Zoldyck ordered Mitsuba to decline any request of her, no matter how small it was. Due to that, Mitsuba and her lover Hassam, who was not around Alluka at that time, were mysteriously crushed into minced meat simultaneously. Killua explained that this was the consequence of saying 'No' to Alluka's requests 4 times. Some time afterward, Yasuha, another female servant of the Zoldyck Family, after granting two other wishes, gave Alluka a piggyback ride at her request, thus activating wish-granting mode. Giving in to her greed at the time, Yasuha wished that Alluka would make her a billionaire. Nanika agreed and suddenly a large number of banknotes started to rain down from a blimp in the sky. It was later reported that a currency transport vessel had suddenly gone missing and by the time it had been found all the money had disappeared, and the captain and crew kept giving nonsensical answers. Illumi Zoldyck became interested in Alluka's power and asked for Silva Zoldyck's permission to deal with Kasuga, the next servant to take care of Alluka, in his own way. He told her to listen to Alluka's requests in exchange for his tolerance of her romantic relationship with an outsider to the Zoldyck Family. When Kasuga was with Alluka, Alluka suddenly asked her for her liver, which Kasuga, suddenly afraid, declined. She followed up with three continuous requests for her duodenum, spine, and brain respectively, which were all declined as well. As a result of Kasuga's refusal to fulfill those four requests, a total of 67 people, including herself, were killed at the same time by Alluka's strange power. This occurrence revealed that her ability had a cumulative effect; the greater the previous wish was (in terms of fulfillment difficulty), the greater the consequences of refusing her next set of requests. From this, they also learned the requests became much more difficult to fulfill after Nanika granted a large wish. Following the blimp incident, Nanika's power caused the death of six couples, for a total of twelve more people: two were necessary for Kikyo to be convinced, two more to test the rules, and two when Milluki Zoldyck sacrificed tourists in exchange for cheap toys. At some point, there was also another big incident that resulted in the death of 13 people, caused again by Milluki, who asked Nanika to kill his target for him. Milluki had a tourist named Muna pay the price by telling him to just ignore Alluka's requests. More recently, Milluki used Nanika to get the latest at the time computer. Nanika has the ability to attach itself to another living being and coexist within their body, taking control of them when certain conditions are met. Its physical abilities are dependent upon those of the body it inhabits. Currently, it has the strength of a normal child. Alluka shares an empathic link with Nanika, which allows her to perceive its emotions. Its most distinctive ability however is its power to grant wishes, the extent of which is speculated by the Zoldycks to be infinite. It is unknown if Nanika retained this ability after Killua told it to stop granting wishes. It is unclear whether Nanika's wish-granting ability is related to Nen. When it healed Gon, a massive amount of aura was released which left Illumi and some of the Zodiacs deeply impressed, but it remains unconfirmed whether that aura belonged to Nanika or Gon.

Tserriednich Hui Guo Rou

Tserriednich Hui Guo Rou is the Fourth Prince of the Kakin Empire, and the son of his father's first wife, Unma. He is also a benefactor of the Heil-Ly Family, one of the three great Mafia families in Kakin's underworld. Tserriednich has long, fair hair, and a thin mustache. He has a rather muscular body. As a prince, he wears long robes and a crown. During formal banquets, he usually wears a black tuxedo. Tserriednich is a placid, polished, and erudite Renaissance man with interests ranging from football to philosophy. He has a very keen intellect, which he is proud of. Despite showing a serene smile and courteous mannerisms, Tserriednich is, in reality, sociopathic and inhumane, indulging in gruesome human slaughter and the collection of human body parts. He thinks of himself as an artist that seeks pieces of inspiring art that young and beautiful people bring about when confronted with extreme situations, although he demands that they have an appropriate level of culture, without which he regards them as subhuman. Furthermore, he is elated at the prospect of being allowed to kill his siblings, whom he sees as scumbags.

One of his bodyguards, Theta, even describes him as pure, unbridled evil, and feels that of all people he must not be allowed to master Nen as he will use it for evil. He seems to get along well with Halkenburg, who posted in his Facebox that Tserriednich is the only sibling that accepts him. At the social party in the Black Whale, he is listening attentively to Halkenburg. He once personally felt the most hateful thing in the world are dishonest women, although this changed to fondness after Theta's attempted murder. At some point in his life, Prince Tserriednich obtained several Scarlet Eyes pairs that Kurapika failed to track. While Kurapika obtains information about him, Tserriednich sends his subordinate Mark to lure two women in his room. He tries to engage the women in an intellectual conversation, and then mercilessly slaughters them. He later contacts Mark and complains about the pair's lack of intellect, as he showers their blood from his body, saying that they only thought about shopping and sex, while he is looking for beautiful people with a future, and not simple-minded "animals". Though still disappointed, he orders his subordinate to bring in the next two girls. His brother Benjamin informs him about the Succession War, which would decide the next king of Kakin after the expedition to the Dark Continent. The news delights Tserriednich since he desires to kill his siblings. Despite Benjamin's threat of killing him, Tserriednich replies, sarcastically, that he is so terrorized he does not want to be called anymore, before hanging up. After the call, he focuses his attention on a tattooer and a woman. He takes a picture of the tattoo, as one of his bodyguards call him. Theta reports that all five of his bodyguards have cleared the test imposed by the Hunter Association; while Benjamin and Tyson, however, have refused to let their bodyguards be tested, out of arrogance and jealousy respectively, and all of Luzurus' have failed. Tserriednich orders her to gather as much info as possible about the Black Whale and hangs up. He says to himself that no fool will sit on the throne, which will be his. As one of the eldest princes of Kakin, Tserriednich has significant political influences, assets and vast funds at his disposal, among which is a luxurious hotel. He is also endowed with a squad of personal bodyguards. Tserriednich is extremely brilliant, as well as knowledgeable about many topics, ranging from science, philosophy, famous individuals to even football. According to Theta, his ability to consider multiple scenarios exceeds her own, even when it comes to a field he has only a basic knowledge of such as Nen. He is known to have astounding visualization and concentration abilities, which contribute to his prodigious talent for Nen. Tserriednich is a Nen genius of prodigious talent who was able to exert minor control over the flow of his aura and pin down the basics of Gyo in less than one day. With this skill, he managed to gather enough aura around his hands to perform Water Divination, which revealed him as a Specialist. According to Theta, the manifestation of his aura during the test is indicative of an extremely sinister nature. Over the next few days, he managed to reach such a proficiency in Ten and Ren that Theta had him perform advanced exercises. According to Theta, he already possesses a large amount of aura. He also succeeded in closing the Aura Nodes in his hands at the first try, as well as to perform a perfect Zetsu for one hour on the third try despite the many disturbances, although he admits that he is too slow inactivating it and his focus is still susceptible to breaking. More impressively, however, he summoned a full-fledged Nen beast without even being aware of it, the medium of a Specialization ability which, according to Theta, was already in working order. He later demonstrated to have unconsciously developed a Nen ability.

Biscuit Krueger

Biscuit Krueger is a Double-Star Stone Hunter who was hired by Battera to clear the video game Greed Island following the auction for the game in Yorknew City. She prefers to be called "Bisky". She also served as the tritagonist for the Greed Island Arc. Biscuit likes to act and look like a young girl. Her overall aspect is reminiscent of a porcelain doll. She is often shown wearing a sleeveless dress and a bloomer with a mantle and skirt donned over it, along with gloves and plain leather shoes. She always has her hair tied up neatly and has changed its style at least three times. In her true form, she is a massive and extremely muscular woman several times the size of her preferred form. Although she claims to stay in her younger form to have the enemy underestimate her, the main reason is that she hates her original appearance. Regardless of which form she is in, Biscuit is very powerful. However, she does receive a tremendous power boost in terms of physical strength when she reverts (her Nen stays relatively unchanged between her forms). As a Royal Bodyguard, she wears her hair in a laced bun and dresses in a suit and tie. Biscuit has a devious personality. She has a tendency to use her cutesy appearance and demeanor to her advantage, whether it is for gathering information, getting what she wants, or acting innocent and helpless in combat to deceive her opponents. She jokingly said that if someone insists on using an honorific, they must call her -chama (-chan + -sama). Though in the beginning she was out to destroy Gon and Killua's friendship for fun, at the end of Greed Island she acknowledges that she is close to developing parental feelings toward the two of them.

She is prone to violent outbursts whenever she is left out of a conversation or reminded of her true age; Killua often becomes one of her victims because of his wisecracks about it. She can also get into arguments with people whose personalities differ from her own, such as Kurapika. Despite her sternness and deceitful personality, Biscuit is easily persuaded once someone compliments her appearance; when Kurapika acknowledges her looking like a princess, Biscuit immediately becomes flattered and agreeable. On the other hand, despite her hard training to reach it, she detests her true form, as it does not match her idea of femininity. As far as martial arts and training are concerned, Biscuit takes a stern and serious attitude towards her opponents and students alike. She has no qualms about killing an enemy fighter in combat, though she does not believe it is right outside of it and believes that lofty morals are an impediment in times of crisis. She unrelentingly pushes her students to their limits. She becomes deeply upset when she finds individuals with potential who squander it, and derives joy from polishing their abilities. As a Stone Hunter, she loves collecting precious stones, gems, and rare jewels and has a habit of naming them. She also loves getting money. Additionally, Biscuit expresses delight upon seeing handsome, young adult men and their figures; she was shown getting excited upon seeing a naked Hisoka. She also enjoys men's fashion magazines during her leisure time. Biscuit has introduced Nen exercises to develop her students' Nen abilities. Although only some of the exercises for Enhancement, Transmutation, and Emission were shown, she has actually devised ways to practice Manipulation and Conjuration as well. Biscuit is a Transmuter who also appears to be proficient in Emission, Enhancement, and Manipulation, despite the latter Nen type being the hardest for Transmuters to master. Her main Nen ability seems to combine Transmutation, Manipulation, and either Emission or Conjuration. She has developed exercises that allow her students to train in all five accessible categories, which should suggest that she has acquired a high level of skill in all of them, especially given her habit of demonstrating the exercises herself. Since she successfully performed her "Floating Hand" exercise, she is capable of firing an aura beam that can knock a Nen user back a dozen feet at the very least. Her theoretical knowledge of Nen extends to the specifics of abilities she herself does not possess, such as teleportation and parasitic-type abilities. Biscuit has mastered all the basic and advanced Nen techniques, with En being the only one she never showcased. She can combine Ten, Ren, Zetsu, Gyo, and Hatsu in her Ko, which had enough power to knock Gon back several meters and give him a nosebleed while he was using Ken, despite her moving her hand extremely slowly. She also claimed that if he had undone the technique instead of just relaxing it, she would have smashed his face in. She can maintain Ko for 30 minutes with no effort. She displayed Zetsu while hiding from the Bombers, as well as Ken, Shu, and In on other occasions. She can perform Ryu at such speed that Gon was unable to discern the changes in her aura flow as she punched. Her estimations are so accurate that in her late twenties she could already redistribute her aura with a margin of error lower than 1%.

Kalluto Zoldyck

Kalluto Zoldyck is the youngest child of Silva and Kikyo Zoldyck. He is member #4 of the Phantom Troupe, replacing Hisoka. Kalluto has shoulder-length black hair (cut in bobcut style in the 2011 anime and Chimera Ant arc of the manga), and pink eyes. He has a mole on the left side of his mouth. His most commonly seen attire is a dark kimono (furisode), accompanied with a yellow obi tied around his waist, and zōri, a pair of Japanese sandals. During the Chimera Ant arc, Kalluto's kimono is black with white and violet edges. He has an overall feminine appearance, which has led him to be mistaken for a girl. When he was younger, he wore a sweater and pants like the rest of his siblings. Kalluto has a silent and obedient personality, often seen doing what he is told. He is established to have a very good relationship with his mother. While he is very quiet, he has shown to be more talkative after joining the Spiders. He is also shown to be quite calm with good control of his feelings.

Nonetheless, he proves during his fight against a Chimera Ant that, despite his calm demeanor, Kalluto has a brutal side and a bad habit of dragging out a fight in order to toy with his victims. Though Kalluto seems to be confident, he also displays a habit of questioning his skills and abilities when he feels that he is not good enough. Despite this, Kalluto possesses an inner resilience and determination, as seen when he reaffirms to himself that he is accustomed to enduring pain and hardship, then swears to get his brother back even when realizing his massive inferiority to other Phantom Troupe members.  He seems to be quite loyal to his comrades as he offered to help Feitan in his fight against Zazan, but was rejected. Kalluto is said to be envious of his older sister, Alluka, for reasons that have yet to be revealed. Kalluto uses a folding fan made out of paper both as a weapon and as a medium for his Dance of the Serpent's Bite ability. Using Shu, he can turn it into a fearsome edged weapon with which he is able to cut steel easily. Kalluto is fully capable of fighting with his paper fan: he demonstrated it by slicing a steel rope three times before it was able to reach him. He might be a tessenjutsu practitioner. The current produced by the motion of his fan is strong enough to lift confetti off the ground. Kalluto is a Manipulator*. He seems to be fairly talented in the field of Nen. His proficiency allowed him to join the Phantom Troupe at a very young age, though he considers himself its weakest member. He has showcased impressive skills in Shu, cutting a steel rope with his fan, and Zetsu, the latter of which caused him to be praised by Hisoka, who was delighted by his aptitude. It was remarked that Kalluto's mastery over this technique is perfect and Machi and Nobunaga were shocked that Hisoka was able to detect him so easily, which, by his own admission, was due to the fact that his senses were highly attuned after the dodgeball game. He has the ability to manipulate paper, using a paper fan and confetti as weapons. It is probable that he materializes the confetti since, when he was fighting with a Chimera Ant, they rained down from his hand while an instant before there was nothing in it. Kalluto revealed he also possesses some sort of divination ability. Its mechanics are as of yet unknown, but it enables him to detect a person with a certain Nen ability, as demonstrated when he found the Exorcist Abengane on Greed Island.

Machi Komacine

Machi Komacine is member #3 of the Phantom Troupe. Her physical strength ranked sixth among the group. Machi is a short, young woman with a petite build. She has blue eyes and pink, messy hair that reaches the middle of her back, but she most often wears it tied up. She is one of the few Troupe members that prefers to wear traditional Japanese-style clothing, looking like a modern-day kunoichi (female ninja). Her usual outfit consists of short tights matched with a short-sleeved uwagi, an obi sash worn around her waist and an obijime tied over it, a pair of fingerless gloves with a pincushion, tabi boots or socks with zōri, and warmers that cover her lower legs. Machi is one of the coldest members of Troupe, almost never losing her cool or displaying any emotions.

However, according to Shalnark, she is a good person at heart. She has been shown to care for Pakunoda, as she was one of the members who mourned her death and watched over her grave. Furthermore, Machi is fiercely loyal to Chrollo, going so far as to challenge two other Troupe members for his sake. She also stated that she would hunt down Hisoka if he were to kill Chrollo. She is very confident in her strength and replies accordingly if threatened. Machi also has sharp intuitions, which have turned out to be true most of the time and are trusted by some of her comrades, such as Nobunaga and Chrollo. Hisoka seems to have high regard for Machi and her abilities, although she treats him as a nuisance at best and a potential enemy of Chrollo's at worst. However, she seemed to care for him to some extent after he died, and after he was revived, she merely told him that she hoped he had learned his lesson, although her job was to confirm his death. When she was restrained by Hisoka, she revealed a much wilder side, screaming in anger at him. Machi keeps several needles in the pincushion she wears on her wrist. She uses them in conjunction with her Nen ability to stitch wounds and track targets. Due to Machi being born in Meteor City, her existence is not recorded in any database, which makes obtaining information on her nearly impossible. As a member of the Phantom Troupe, Machi is a very powerful fighter. She has extreme confidence in her strength, demonstrated when she was willing to engage in combat with both Phinks and Feitan in order to let Pakunoda go to the hostage exchange with Kurapika. She also confidently told Hisoka that she would kill him if he ever managed to kill Chrollo. Furthermore, when Gon and Leorio couldn't grasp the extent of her and Nobunaga's strength, Killua compared it to that of Hisoka. When dividing the Troupe into groups to prevent Kurapika from killing them one by one, Chrollo placed Machi in a team with two out of the five members who had received a foreboding fortune and possessed abilities that were said to be invaluable assets to the Spiders. Like the rest of the Troupe, Machi has superhuman physical attributes but has yet to fight with her bare hands (although the guard she used to defend against Killua and Hisoka suggests that she has some expertise in the field). She primarily resorts to using her threads in combat, restraining or hanging her opponents, or even setting elaborate traps. She is also rather observant, understanding that she and Nobunaga were being watched by professionals. Machi is a Transmuter. As a member of the Phantom Troupe, she is extremely proficient in Nen. The techniques she has been seen using are Hatsu, In, Ren, and Gyo, with the probable addition of Ken and, obviously, Ten. Outside of her natural category, she appears to have at least a working command of Emission.

Feitan Portor

Feitan Portor is member #2 of the Phantom Troupe. His physical strength ranked fifth among the group. After defeating Zazan, Feitan became the de facto leader of the Troupe until Chrollo's return. Feitan is short, lean, and muscular. He has black, mid-length hair, grey eyes, and a pale complexion. He wears dark, baggy clothes and a bandana sporting the trademark skull crest over his mouth. Feitan's spider tattoo has yet to be revealed. ery proficient in the art of torture, Feitan is the Phantom Troupe's interrogator. His speech usually consists of few words and poor grammar; when angered, he speaks a language of unknown origin, different from the common language of the world. Although he is very loyal to Chrollo, Feitan prioritizes the survival of the Troupe itself He is implied to be deeply involved with all Troupe activities, remembering exactly how long it had been since all the group’s members had gathered together, what had changed since then, and who the new members were. Although he occasionally clashes with them, Feitan seems to get along well with the other members.

He is particularly close to Phinks, with whom he partners during missions and competes to see who can get more kills. Some subtle moments also suggest that Feitan has a good friendship with Shalnark: he once assured Shalnark that Uvogin would not be killed so easily, and the two were seen celebrating together after the Troupe’s successful plan at the auction. He also seems to trust Shalnark's judgment, as he conceded on letting Gon and Killua leave after they were first captured, but only after Shalnark determined that it would be fine to do so. Feitan also displays a humorous side, shown when he and Shalnark tease Phinks after their respective battles against the Chimera Ants, with Feitan wearing an uncharacteristic expression on his face the whole time. As the Troupe's interrogator, Feitan once remarked that he felt "most sorry" for his victim, indicating that he showed some signs of sympathy. Nevertheless, he is a sadist who enjoys inflicting pain, having planned to start his torture of Gon by ripping off his fingernails. Another instance of Feitan's sadism was his maniacal laughter and mocking directed at Zazan while she was dying. Feitan has a double-edged, thin sword resembling a jian or shikomizue, which he keeps concealed inside an umbrella. The hilt resembles that of an umbrella and is wrapped in dark purple bandages. The umbrella itself is maroon, with a black skull painted on it. Aside from concealing Feitan's sword, the umbrella can also be opened to briefly distract the opponent and create an opening, or to stab them with the tip, which can also be fired like a bullet by pressing a button on the handle. Due to Feitan being born in Meteor City, his existence is not recorded in any database, which makes obtaining information on him nearly impossible. In terms of combat prowess, Feitan stands out even among the Spiders. His extreme speed, great strength, and skill in swordsmanship, combined with his powerful Nen abilities, make him a deadly opponent. His strength of mind and ruthlessness allow him to act without hesitation. He has a penchant for attacking the enemy from their blind spots. Since he rarely fights at full strength, he often underperforms at the beginning of a real fight. Feitan is adept at torturing people in order to get information out of them, as he did with Owl, or to exact revenge, as he was eager to do with Gon. He used a form of torture when he killed Zazan with his Pain Packer. Feitan is a Transmuter*. He is a powerful Nen user whose Rising Sun would have been lethal to multiple Troupe members if they had stayed to watch it being unleashed. The armor he materializes before using the ability suggests that he is skilled in Conjuration as well. Additionally, Feitan employs Emission to detach the aura from his body while preparing the attack. Using three Nen categories simultaneously demonstrates versatility and competence. Aside from Hatsu, he has also mastered advanced Nen techniques like Shu and Ko, which he can combine, as well as Ken. These advanced applications imply that he can use Ten, Ren, Zetsu, and Gyo.

Nobunaga Hazama

Nobunaga Hazama is member #1 of the Phantom Troupe. His physical strength ranked ninth among the group. Nobunaga usually wears a classic Japanese-style robe and short pants, while his midsection is wrapped in a sarashi (with wrappings also around his lower legs). He has long black hair that he ties into a single topknot. He also has a pencil moustache and a small patch of hair on his chin. His sword almost never leaves his side. Nobunaga's spider tattoo has yet to be revealed. Nobunaga is typically a calm individual, but can be brash and get into conflicts with the other Troupe members. While he demonstrates good fighting speed and capacity for reason, he does seem to struggle with impromptu decision-making. This is first seen when Owl traps the car the Troupe members were riding in; every occupant of the car was able to escape except for Nobunaga. However, this was mostly due to the fact that he was sitting in the middle back seat and had the worst position. Furthermore, when Gon and Killua announce their plan to attack him together, Nobunaga activates his En and prepares himself for the attack instead of pursuing either of the boys, ultimately giving them the chance to escape. Nobunaga is one of the friendlier members of the Troupe.

He frequently smiles at the sight of Gon and Killua, asking them to be friends and even asking Chrollo to make them Troupe members. This is especially the case for Gon since he has the same Nen type and attitude as Nobunaga's late best friend, Uvogin. He is extremely loyal to Chrollo, which he showed when he was willing to fight Phinks to prevent him from going after Pakunoda. Nobunaga hates when hostages speak without permission, and will coldly warn them against it at least twice. He tells them to answer all the questions truthfully whenever they are under interrogation by any members of the Troupe. In such a situation, Nobunaga warned Killua that if he spoke without permission, he would kill him. He is willing to kill hostages swiftly and unhesitantly if they don’t follow his repeated warnings, as he did to Squala. Nobunaga uses a katana as his preferred weapon. It is portrayed differently in each adaptation of the series. In the manga, its grip is wrapped in white bandages and sheathed in a dark scabbard. In the 1999 anime adaptation, the hilt is similar, but the scabbard is light brown. In the 2011 anime adaptation, the bandages are dark green, the scabbard black, and the blade slightly curved. In all three depictions, the katana lacks a tsuba, the grip is wrapped in the hineri maki way, and the tassel is rectangular. To disguise his weapon, Nobunaga sometimes wraps it in grayish-purple canvas, tied with a twine thread at the top. He carries it on his left hip in his obi sash. When fighting alongside Uvogin in the past and at the time of his arrival in Yorknew City, Nobunaga also carried a second katana, identical to the first. Due to Nobunaga being born in Meteor City, his existence is not recorded in any database, which makes obtaining information on him nearly impossible. He is very confident in his abilities, having attacked Hisoka without hesitation. In addition, when Gon and Leorio were unable to grasp the extent of his and Machi's strength, Killua compared it to that of Hisoka. Nobunaga is so skilled a swordsman that Killua guessed he would be unable to get close to him without getting sliced in half, and Nobunaga would still have time to strike a second time and kill Gon before the latter could pass him. According to Franklin, Nobunaga was better at fighting one-on-one and while he complained whenever he was paired up with Uvogin, he actually didn’t seem to mind it. Nobunaga is also rather observant, understanding that he and Machi were being watched by professionals. Nobunaga has been shown to possess what some may refer to as a sixth sense, gathering information from his surroundings outside of his rudimentary senses. He knew that multiple people concealed with Zetsu were tailing him and Machi, and that they were being observed by Gon, Leorio, and Killua, though he was unable to pinpoint their locations and number in both instances. Nobunaga is very skilled in the use of edged weapons. His blade of choice is a long katana, though when fighting beside Uvogin in the past and then on his way to Yorknew City, he was seen wielding two swords. Nobunaga is an Enhancer*. He seems to possess a powerful aura, as the clash of his hostility with Machi's frightened Gon, Killua, and Leorio. Little is known about his proficiency in Nen, but as a member of the Phantom Troupe, it must be quite high. Nonetheless, he was defeated by Gon in arm-wrestling despite being an Enhancer himself and having much greater base physical strength, as proven by his previous victories. If the defeat was not caused by a psychological weakness, this should mean Nobunaga's aura output and/or his skills in his natural category were considerably lower than Gon's at the time. Nobunaga has some skill in En, stating that his maximum range is four meters, which corresponds to the reach of his blade and complements his fighting style. His working command of the technique implies that he also knows at least Ten and Ren. His Nen ability has yet to be shown, but Shalnark stated that it could easily be replaced along with his own (in contrast to Shizuku and Pakunoda’s abilities).
